CATANIA – E’ sulla delicata vicenda del Teatro Massimo Bellini di Catania che è intervenuta la deputata del Movimento Cinque Stelle Simona Suriano annunciando la presentazione di una interrogazione parlamentare e chiedendo l’interessamento del Ministro dei Beni Culturali.
“L’ennesimo colpo inferto al cuore della città di Catania – afferma Suriano – sarebbe la chiusura del Teatro Massimo Bellini. Non possiamo permetterlo. La paralisi che sta condizionando un ente che dovrebbe essere il fiore all’occhiello della città e dell’intera Sicilia, per storia e tradizione, è inaccettabile. I lavoratori, dopo mesi di attesa e di promesse, vivono in un’eterna precarietà aspettando i fondi promessi dal governo regionale e che si sarebbero impatanati all’Ars”.
“Una vera e propria mortificazione di uno dei simboli della cultura cittadina – prosegue la deputata – che grida allo scandalo. Il gruppo del M5S all’Ars ha da tempo avviato una battaglia per riconoscere sostegno e rispetto all’unico teatro regionale esistente ma oltre le parole, da parte del governo Musumeci, non sono mai arrivati i fatti. Così ho predisposto una interrogazione sulla vicenda del teatro Massimo Bellini e con l’ausilio del presidente della Commissione Cultura alla Camera Gallo e del deputato del M5S Nitti, che è un esperto del settore, porteremo il tema all’ordine del giorno dei lavori della commissione. Ho avuto modo, come già avvenuto in passato, di sentire i lavoratori giustamente delusi e amareggiati. Non possiamo giocare con il futuro delle famiglie né con l’istituzione culturale di Catania: andremo sino in fondo”.
